Hi, I’m Ale! Today I’m going to teach you how to change the output rotation axis of your robot’s motors.
 

To build these mechanisms, you can follow the instructions I’ve prepared for you in the PDFs attached to this page.

Strong System

This system for converting motion from one direction to another is the most robust one you can build.

It allows us to lift fairly heavy loads without compromising the speed of movement.

To build this system, you should be able to use only the parts included in the Spike Prime set. The only piece you might not have is the motor output axle — it's a 5.5-length axle, part number 32209, which comes with the EV3 set.

However, you can replace it with any friction axle of your choice without compromising the stability of the system.

Strong System

Worm Gear

This type of gear system allows you to achieve a very low gear ratio, which ensures high torque at the system's output.
It is used to lift heavy loads and cannot be driven from the outside.
It’s not suitable for fast movements, so I recommend avoiding it when you're short on time.

All the parts we used can be found in the LEGO EV3 Core Set and Expansion Set.
