In this section, I'll teach you how to build rack and pinion systems.
These are mechanical systems that allow you to transform rotational movement into linear movement. You can use them to lift loads or extend components of your robot.
Gear Rack
This rack and pinion system model is very solid and allows you to move even heavy loads. Unfortunately, to build it, you need some specific parts that are not found in Spike or Ev3 sets.
You can find some of these parts in the BricQ set or purchase them directly from sites that sell individual pieces.
Alternative Rack
The model you see next to it is a rack and pinion system that you can build using Spike Prime sets.
The only part not included in the set is the rack.
However, this part was available in some competition fields in previous years, so it's likely you have at least one among your materials.
Compared to the previous system, it is less robust but still effective.
